Today promised to be an exciting one. I was going down to meet Chef Ludo Lefebvre at the LudoTruck to take some pics and have some fun with a couple of his new besties (more about this another day). If anyone knows me even a little bit they know that NOTHING would keep me from some Ludo Fried Chicken – and more importantly those lavender biscuits.
I mean I love those crunchy coated succulent pieces of chicken so much I put them on the cover of Made in America. And one of the recipes that I’m most looking forward to cooking up from the new LudoBites Cookbook
And then along came a space ship… as Endeavour arrived in Los Angeles. I had no idea quite how close I would come. Sounds like the dog ate my homework sort of reason not to get there but it’s true. Traffic was terrible – and we all know that driving in LA is never great but just think how crazy it was on the roads with everyone peering up to the sky trying to catch a glimpse. So I turned around – fried chicken and biscuits still calling my name and my mouth watering.
I’m so glad I returned home in time because I was in for a HUGE treat. Endeavour was making it’s way to LAX where it’s to be exhibited at the Science Museum but before it is forever down on the ground it flew around California for us all to welcome it to its new home. We waited and we watched the sky – and then there it was – flying in over the hills from the direction of the Getty.
And then she was gone… my biggest regret is not keeping Rémy and Minty off school to see this amazing sight – I can only hope that they were allowed to leave their desks during the moments the rocket was overhead in Los Feliz, seconds after it had passed by here.
I guess I could try to make those lavender biscuits at home… mmm – I wonder if I can get the recipe out of Ludo any time soon?
